  1. feedback on rejected assets

I suggest giving feedback for rejected assets as they do at unity. Approval of assets is beneficial to both gamedev market and myself.

  3. make it possible to upgrade from a basic license to a pro license

In some cases, I might want to buy an item with the basic license to try it out, and then upgrade to the pro license if I want to use it. It would be nice to only have to pay the difference in price.
For example, if the basic license is $5 and the pro license is $20, make it possible to pay $15 to upgrade from a pre-existing basic license to a pro one.
If this is already possible, you should probably mention it on the license page, because I couldn't find any information about it. If not, I…

  4. My zip file is so big when it's finished uploading I was automatically signed out

My zip file is so big when it's finished uploading I was automatically signed out. After I log in my zip file is gone so I have to upload the file again + keep browsing on the store to prevent it from logging me out. Please fix that thank you. :D

  5. text Formatting

    Hi! Look -

    https://www.gamedevmarket.net/asset/big-furniture-pack-306/

here in my description of the project has a bulleted list. However, a line break is not preserved and it looks not nice. Would be great if the style of the text will be fully preserved.

Hi Thomas. We plan to add a WYSIWYG editor to the asset listing process to make it easier to create rich descriptions. In the meantime, you can us
HTML tags to create new lines. I hope that helps and if you need anything else at all, please don’t hesitate to let us know. Thanks!

  6. Build up content for a wide range then bulk up on polular

I like the layout and design of the site, I feel that it can go far if maintained and promoted so long as you can get content creators to come and add value to your list of provided assets.

I tend to like making a huge variety of games and with that my asset needs vary (side-view, top-down, perspective, fantasy, sci-fi, generic and other) and the thing I have the hardest time with is finding prototype sprites for my player character(s) ie. fill-in sprites that will do until I discover what my game is about or what shape/size everything will…

  7. Remember Login

I'm sure this feature is on the list, but it would be real nice if we had the option to remember login information.

  8. Text Formatting

It seems none of the text boxes follow the entered formatting.
Neither html nor straight text format seem to work.
Instead of clearly structured paragraphs theres a block of unformatted letters.
This makes reading and designing longer descriptions impossible.

  9. create new license or change Pro license to make it more modficiation-friendly

right now, If your goal is to create a game marketplace where games all look the same, these licenses are on the right track. The Pro license allows modifications to assets but then says the 1 allowed derivative is owned by the seller, which doesn't make any sense. The license just needs to say any derivatives have the same restrictions as the original; I don't know what incentive a potential buyer has to modify any asset if the seller can just take those modifications and re-license the entire derivative work to anyone else at any time. Buyers have limited ability…

  10. My Inventory - Jump To Asset

When browsing 'My Inventory' it would be nice to have a 'Jump To Asset Site' - Action Button that lets you jump directly to the asset.

That will help in checking for errors in descriptions, listings and the like.

Awesome work in the last few days, btw.

    Regards,
    Mirko

  12. Is there an indication on pricing

    Hey there,

Is there any idea I can get about list prices for assets being listed. I want to make sure my models are competitive, as a seller is there anything I can access to gauge pricing?

    Hi there,

Unfortunately, at the moment there isn’t a way for you to see the prices of other creators’ assets. The marketplace will be fully opened on May 30th, but in the meantime I’d suggest just using your own judgement. You can edit the prices of your asset at any time by selecting the “Edit Basic Details” icon to the right of your asset in your Inventory.

    Thanks,

  13. Add stuff to assets after release

I'm not sure if that's possible right now or not but it would be really nice to update your assets after you release them already.

    • buyers (those who got assets already) should get mail notification about the update so they can download latest version again.

    Hi there,

There should be an icon next to your asset to edit the Basic Details of your asset, which is for the title, subtitle, prices etc. Once your asset has been reviewed (as long as it isn’t fully rejected), you should see an icon to “View/Edit Versions”. If you click this, you can add and amend versions to change sample files, technical details etc and of course the ZIP file itself. In the future, creating a new version will notify previous buyers and they’ll be able to download the latest version.

    Thanks,

    Adam

  14. I LOVE THIS CONCEPT! heres my 2 cents tho

I like the account lvl and xp (good idea). and this being a game dev site, i would like to see a game style achievement system and some competitive social interactions to keep content more engaging to make visitors hang out here longer and participate, not just a marketplace.Keep that in-game feel u got going on, ie. contests, face offs, team challenges, group projects, community chat box. Im really exited about this site, the indie game dev community needs this badly. I give my full support

Thank you so much for your enthusiasm, Blue Monster. We couldn’t agree more with you. The focus of our launch is on the marketplace and community forums with an underlying XP system, but we have so much more planned for the near future. Contests, co-op tasks, jams and more. Stay tuned!

    Hi Alvaro,

Thanks for you interest in GDM!

You can find out more information about selling on GameDev Market using the link below.

    https://www.gamedevmarket.net/about/selling

We have a lot of content coming about how to submit assets, Submission Guidelines, Quality Guidelines and more. These will be ready for launch on May 30th.

For now, I’d suggest giving it a go and ensuring that both your asset and your asset listing are high quality. If you have any specific questions or issues, please let me know.

    Thanks,

  18. Review the genre dropdown Menu

    Hi there,

the listing is nearly complete, but what if you got an asset, let's say textures or a landscape, that could be used more in "General" - I mean in nearly all kinds of genres?

Maybe "General" or something like that should be added to the list, I'd say.

    Kind Regards,

    Karsten

  19. review List an Asset -> technical details

    hi there,

When uploading a 2D texture, one got "Vector", "Layered" and "Sprite" to choose from.

I´d say just add "Image" or something like that. Not all textures are layered or vector grafics...

    Cheers!

Hi there. You aren’t required to select one of these options, these are additional features/attributes that you can select if applicable. If your asset is not vector, layered or a sprite then you can leave none selected. This should be more clear in the redesign. Thanks for your feedback!

  20. Genre expansion

The current list of Genres is very limited for a game like Minecraft the genre would be sandbox yet there is no sandbox option. I also notice the lack of a simulation or tycoon genre all very large genres that I think should be added. Overall I believe you need to expand on the Genre list to include more genres so assets can be listed more accurately. some suggestions would be Sandbox, simulation, tycoon, first person shooter, RPG, ect.
